2022 BLS Registration Portal
Please read the instructions below before registering for a BLS class.
The clinical education department is now offering blended learning Basic Life Support classes.
Our instructor staff has over 25 years experience in teaching and practicing Basic and Advanced Life Support in the pre-hospital and in-hospital environment. They will provide knowledgeable and relevant training that will prepare you and your team to respond to emergencies that require Basic Life Support.
During the face to face session you will receive quality istruction on hi-fidelity manikins and AEDs. You will also be familiarized with equipment that is used in LFMC clinics as well as protocols for responding to an emergency. In addition to simulated AEDs, we will utilize the Zoll AED Plus trainer. The Zoll AED Plus is currently being used in our clinics so this will give you the opportunity to be familiar with the same AED you would you use to defribrilate a person experiencing cardiac arrest.
Registering for a course
When you register for a course, you are registering for the day you will do the hands-on skills session.
One week prior to the skills session you you registered for, you will be emailed a link to the online training portion which you will will complete at your own pace. The online training portion must be completed prior to the hands-on skills session.
The skills sessions will be held at the LFMC Southside Clinic community room. Skills sessions are limited to 6 students in order to maintain safe social distancing. The registration portal will not allow you to register for a class that is full.
The skills sessions will be open for walk-ins between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. An instructor will be available during that time to accomodate students who arrive for their skills sign-off so there is no need to call ahead ... just come on in! The length of the skills session is dependant on the students knowledge and proficiency performing Basic Life Support Skills.
