Wow, it’s been a crazy week. It was amazing to see everybody rally together on Monday to do what we needed to do. A line of cars outside the Nancy Rodriguez Center, Tom and the lab staff calmly testing everybody, text messages and e-mails and last-minute Zoom calls to make sure everyone knew what to do… Bravo! But this really forced me to realize that not only are we not out of the woods when it comes to Covid, we are right in the thick of it. Now more than ever we’ve got to take care of ourselves and one another in order to keep doing our jobs and taking care of the rest of Santa Fe. So, real quick, before I get to today’s idea for movement, I want to know whether or not these emails are doing you any good. Please take this quick anonymous survey, it will take 90 seconds or less: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdQnk5FGPHzHAoIaVXvX65MECqddKOB4gXyVETS4YnqaS0g_Q/viewform?usp=sf_link
And now, on to Movement Week 3:
This week our focus is on moving outside!
Build In (Revisiting our very first activities)
When you finish your work day, step outside after winding down, STAND UP STRAIGHT, LOOK UP AT THE SKY, and take three deep breaths of clean, fresh, virus-free air.
OR
Try Forest Bathing, an ancient Japanese ritual to appreciate one's surroundings in nature. It has been shown to have extensive mental and physical health benefits.
Other outdoor movement ideas: Hop on your bike, Leash up your pup, Round up your kids and, RUN, WALK, BIKE, MOVE your way to relieving stress, strengthening your immune system, sharpening your learning and toning up your metabolism.
