This week’s OOM is about reflecting on how La Familia has done throughout this past year. I am happy to reflect on how amazing it is that we have already begun vaccinating our staff against Covid-19! The words that came to my mind as I got mine were excitement, history-making, and HOPE. The pandemic is still far from over, but we can finally see the light at the end of this very long tunnel. Of course, there is a much larger – and more complicated – story of the past year that could use some serious reflection time. Consider trying out the huddle activity below with your family or friends (via Zoom!) in the coming days when you have a bit of time away from the clinic.

The Three R’s (from First Choice Community Health in Albuquerque) Reflect, Reset, Revive

2020 has brought some struggles not only to our country but to La Familia as well. Our usual operations are disrupted by childcare and school changes, staff shortages, and learning how to deliver care during a pandemic. Nevertheless, we have had each other’s backs! We have stood together with strong bonds of loyalty and teamwork, to care for ourselves and our patients. We have taken on new and ever-changing workflows as we coped with new knowledge and site needs. We continue to try our best to hold each other up in these most difficult of times.

HUDDLE ACTIVITY: What word or short phrase comes to mind when you reflect on our Organization’s response to the pandemic of 2020
